The developers of REPO have outlined their immediate plans for the game, which feature a special "duck bucket" designed to neutralize the deadly duck. Read on to discover the future updates and hear what the creator of Lethal Company thinks about the title.
Details for REPO's First Major Update
Introducing the 'Duck Bucket' to Counter The Duck

The inaugural update for REPO will introduce a new map and a "duck bucket" to help players deal with the notorious duck. Semiwork Studios shared a YouTube video on March 15th detailing these upcoming changes.
REPO is an online cooperative horror game supporting up to 6 players, where teams must cautiously extract and retrieve items from a terrifying setting. Players might find themselves stalked by The Apex Predator, a seemingly harmless yellow duck that, if disturbed or picked up, transforms into a monstrous creature for a 10-second attack frenzy before reverting.
To counter this, developers are adding a "duck bucket" to trap the annoying fowl and prevent it from tailing the team. This also safeguards players from accidentally triggering the duck's monstrous form. The update will also bring new character facial expressions and various quality-of-life enhancements.
New "The Museum" Map and Public Lobbies

Semiwork Studios has also announced a forthcoming map named "The Museum," described as a level that will test players' parkour abilities. Additionally, extraction points will now feature a visible boundary to clearly indicate if collected loot is within the extraction zone.
The team is actively developing public matchmaking lobbies, having considered extensive player feedback. "Since a vast majority are comfortable with a matchmaking system allowing public or private hosting, along with a kick function, that's our current focus. For full transparency, implementing a kick button involves complex server-side coding, which is new territory for us," the developers stated.
However, Semiwork Studios acknowledged the technical challenges, so fans should expect this feature to potentially arrive later than other planned updates.
Lethal Company Creator's Take on REPO
Since its February release, REPO has drawn comparisons to the popular co-op horror hit Lethal Company due to shared mechanics and themes. On March 15th, Lethal Company's creator, Zeekerss, offered constructive criticism on Twitter (X), highlighting areas for potential improvement.
In his post, he said: "REPO is fun. Initially, I wasn't sure I liked it because movement felt slow (and the voice chat range is too limited!). But the teamwork required to maneuver a grand piano through a tight old mansion without scraping it is a brilliantly hilarious objective for a horror game." He added in the comments: "I'll share more detailed thoughts on Patreon, but key points are: #1. Increase the voice chat range and reduce the muffling effect. #2. Expansive, open levels don't suit the game's design well (similar to Phasmophobia); it truly shines in the claustrophobic mansion layout."

Responding to a comment about enemies approaching silently, Zeekerss noted: "Agreed. The game also needs an in-game method to learn enemy behaviors, but I'm sure the developers have that planned."
R.E.P.O. is the latest viral cooperative horror title, available exclusively on PC. Currently, it ranks as the 2nd top-selling game on Steam, right behind Counter-Strike 2. According to SteamDB, it has achieved over 230,645 concurrent players, nearing Lethal Company's all-time peak of 240,817. For the latest news on R.E.P.O., check out our article below!
