Despite being somewhat overshadowed by other titles, Halo Infinite continues to captivate its audience with ongoing content updates. The development team has recently unveiled a thrilling new competitive game mode, S&D Extraction, which promises to deliver a fresh and strategically rich experience to players.
Inspired by Valve's iconic Counter-Strike, S&D Extraction introduces innovative elements that set it apart. In this mode, two teams of four players each face off: one team assumes the role of attackers, tasked with planting a device at a designated point, while the other team defends. The teams switch roles after each round, and victory is achieved by winning six rounds.
A key feature of S&D Extraction is its robust economic system, which allows players to purchase equipment at the start of each round using in-game currency earned through completing objectives. The prices of equipment are dynamic, fluctuating based on player performance, and all gear vanishes at the end of each round.
The cost of items is meticulously balanced according to their effectiveness and power potential within a round, with more potent items commanding higher prices. Players can anticipate more affordable options in the early stages, escalating to pricier equipment mid-match, and potentially even more costly gear towards the end if they strategically save their earnings. Furthermore, players have the option to pay for a respawn after being eliminated, adding another layer of tactical decision-making.
Set to launch in 2025, S&D Extraction promises to be a dynamic and engaging competitive experience for Halo Infinite fans, further enriching the franchise's already diverse gameplay offerings.
