Game Introduction

READY! for Kindergarten stands out as the premier school readiness program offered by The Children's Reading Foundation. Tailored for children aged 2 to 5, and also suitable for older children needing to catch up on core skills, this program is designed to prepare your child for future learning and success in school through engaging, interactive gameplay.

The READY! for Kindergarten app features games that focus on developing specific core skills. These games are crafted to be replayed multiple times, as young children thrive with hundreds of repetitions in a nurturing and supportive environment. To learn more about the skills each game targets, simply tap the "i" icon located in the lower right corner of each game icon.

As your child interacts with the games, the app tracks their progress and sends this data to the reports section. This feature allows you to monitor your child's development in various skill areas and compare their achievements with those of similarly aged children across the U.S. This comparison can help you identify and focus on areas where your child may need additional support.

For children aged 2 to 5, the app's games are specifically designed to teach essential skills such as singing the ABC song, matching letter shapes, pronouncing letter sounds, expanding vocabulary, counting to 30, and recognizing emotions.

The foundation of the READY! program comprises 26 Age-Level Targets, which are measurable skills that a typical 5-year-old should master before entering kindergarten. These targets, developed over seven years by early learning experts in collaboration with families, scientists, and educators, are research-based and critical for school readiness.

In recognition of its effectiveness, READY! for Kindergarten was honored with a Top 100 Award by District Administration Magazine in 2013.
