Pesten With Cards is a classic Dutch card game literally meaning "Bullying With Cards." Similar games exist worldwide, including Mau-Mau, Crazy Eights, Shedding, Puque, Чешский Дурак, Фараон, Крокодил, Tschau Sepp, and Uno. The objective is to be the first to discard all your cards. The winning player must declare "Last Card" before playing their final card; failure to do so results in a two-card penalty. Multiple decks, including Jokers, can be used. Each player receives seven cards, with the remainder forming a draw pile. The top card of the draw pile is revealed to start the game. Players take turns (clockwise) playing cards matching the number or suit of the top card on the discard pile. Jokers and Jacks are exceptions, playable on any card. If unable to play a card, a player draws from the stock pile. If the drawn card is playable, the player may choose to play it immediately.
Last Card: When down to one card, players must click the "Last Card" button. Forgetting to do so, or incorrectly declaring it, incurs a two-card penalty. The button can be pressed preemptively. Successfully playing your last card wins the round, provided it's not a special card (see below).
Special Cards: Each played card triggers a specific action (variations exist; check game options).
- Joker: The next player draws five cards. Each subsequent Joker played adds five more cards to the penalty. A player drawing cards cannot play them; the next player proceeds.
- Two: The next player draws two cards. Each subsequent Two played adds two more cards. If enabled, a Joker can be played on a Two (adding five cards). A Two cannot be played on a Joker. Players drawing cards cannot play them.
- Seven: The player must play another card. Remember to declare "Last Card" if applicable. Failure to play a card results in drawing from the stock pile.
- Eight: The next player skips a turn. In two-player games, the current player takes another turn.
- Ten: Each player passes a card to the player on their left.
