Digital Extremes has announced the Android pre-registration for Warframe's mobile release, alongside a wave of exciting news for Warframe: 1999 and beyond. This mobile launch introduces a new audience to the popular hack-and-slash shooter.
The latest devstream revealed several key updates: an upcoming anime short for Warframe: 1999, produced in collaboration with The Line studio; continued development of the On-Lyne ARG (even catalogued by Digital Extremes themselves); and significant additions to Warframe: 1999's features.
These additions include a new Faceoff PvPvE multiplayer mode, the return of voice actor Neil Newborn (Baldur's Gate 3), romantic storylines involving the Hex members in 1999, and further details on the 59th Warframe, Cyte-09.
A Massive Expansion
Warframe's mobile release is already packed with content, and the upcoming Warframe: 1999 expansion promises a significant shift. Acting almost as a standalone prequel, 1999 introduces a vast amount of new content to the Warframe universe. This news, coupled with their presence at Tokyo Game Show 2024, strongly suggests a major impact upon 1999's release.
