These job cuts weren't isolated to Rocksteady; Games Montreal, another Warner Bros. studio, also experienced layoffs, shedding 99 employees in December.
The game's early access release exacerbated the situation. Players encountered numerous bugs, including server outages and a major story spoiler. Negative reviews from prominent gaming publications compounded the issue, leading to a massive surge in refund requests—a 791% increase, according to McLuck analytics.
