However, at the recent Game Developers Conference, IGN discovered one mystery that *Overture* won't solve: the jaw-dropping twist in the base game's final cutscene.
For those yet to experience the end of *Lies of P*, here's a spoiler-free summary: the game concludes with a cutscene that hints at the future direction of the *Lies of P* universe. This scene has sparked intense speculation among fans about its implications and potential connections to the DLC. Yet, *Lies of P* director Jiwon Choi has clarified that this particular cutscene is not related to *Overture*. Choi teased, "Please stay tuned for additional announcements in the future," leaving fans eager for more information.
Neowiz has already confirmed a sequel to *Lies of P*, suggesting that the enigmatic cutscene might be setting the stage for *Lies of P 2*. However, details about the sequel remain scarce, and Choi remained tight-lipped during our conversation. He emphasized Neowiz's commitment to quality, stating, "What I can certainly tell you is when we share such news or media and assets with you, you'll know for sure that we are ready to present it to you. And that follows very our strict focus on quality [amid] all the pressure that we talked about in the past. So that is the one promise that I can share with you, that when we actually share those contents with you and the news, we will be ready to share that with you."

The scene in question, which we discussed with Choi, is the "Dorothy scene." As detailed in our previous article, the final cutscene features Paracelcus on a phone call, mentioning his intent to "find her, for sure. Another key of ours: Dorothy." The scene then reveals the iconic striped sock legs and ruby slippers of Dorothy from *The Wizard of Oz*, hinting at a connection to other public domain fairy tales in future *Lies of P* narratives. However, Choi confirmed that this twist won't be explored in *Overture*.

While the Dorothy mystery remains unsolved, Choi did provide some insights into what fans can expect from *Overture*. He encouraged players to replay the base game, noting, "When you play through the base game again, you'll see many hints that we scattered throughout the whole experience. A lot of hints and a lot of windows into the world, and you'll be able to actually see that and experience that in expansion…There are many things that I actually wanted to accomplish when we were working on the base game. It didn't get put into the base game, and all of that, at least key elements of that are going to be included in expansion." Choi also mentioned that some fans are already piecing together the clues, as he regularly follows fan theories online and finds some of them "quite close."
Additionally, Choi shared that *Overture* is expected to take experienced players between 15-20 hours to complete. The DLC will be accessible after players reach a "certain" chapter in the game and will be available until the end. As previously announced, *Overture* serves as a prequel, with the protagonist being transported back in time to Krat just before its fall. Players can look forward to new locations, enemies, bosses, characters, and weapons, though Choi kept the specifics under wraps to maintain the surprise for the release.
