Netflix's surprising holiday release of Squid Game: Unleashed – a free-to-play battle royale game – is now further incentivized. Non-subscribers can enjoy the game, and everyone can earn rewards by watching Season Two!
Here's what's in store for players:
Starting January 3rd, a new map inspired by the "Mingle" mini-game from Squid Game Season Two is added. New playable avatars – Geum-Ja, Yong-Sik, and rapper Thanos – will also debut throughout January.
Geum-Ja and Thanos will have special in-game unlock events on January 3rd and 9th respectively. Watching Squid Game Season Two episodes earns you in-game Cash and Wild Tokens. Watching up to seven episodes unlocks the exclusive "Binni Binge-Watcher" outfit!

January's Squid Game: Unleashed Schedule:
- January 3rd: New Mingle map launches. Geum-Ja's "Dalgona Mash Up Collection Event" begins (until January 9th), challenging players to complete Mingle-inspired mini-games and collect Dalgona tins.
- January 9th: Thanos arrives! His "Thanos' Red Light Challenge" event starts (until January 14th), requiring players to eliminate opponents using knives to unlock him.
- January 16th: Yong-Sik joins the game as the final new character in this update.
Squid Game: Unleashed could be a game-changer for Netflix's gaming ambitions. The free-to-play model, coupled with subscriber rewards tied to show viewership, cleverly supports the show while attracting new players.
