A popular trick-taking card game for three players using a 24-card deck.
Current game rules include:
- Players must reach 880 points to declare "barrel"
- Points reset after three failed attempts to win a barrel round
- Receiving a "bolt" when scoring zero points in a round
- Accumulating three bolts results in a 120-point penalty
- Surrendering players incur full penalty while opponents receive half the amount
Available game settings:
- Victory threshold set above 1000 points
- Automatic point clearance at 555 or -555 points
- Barrel declaration during player's uncontested bidding turn
- Card redeal when talon or hand falls below minimum point value
- Ace marriage scoring
- Golden round special scoring
- Collaborative barrel scenarios
Barrel declaration on "own turn":
Players with 880+ points may declare barrel when holding first bid privilege.
"Own turn" signifies priority bidding rights at round start.
The declaring player automatically wins bidding and claims talon regardless of opponents' cards.
Failed attempts incur penalties (120 points) with point reset after three failures.
Without bidding priority, barrel attempts proceed normally but award no points or penalties.
Multiple players reaching barrel simultaneously triggers turn-based resolution.
