The announcement promises an entirely new Purpose Path, eagerly anticipated mod support, and a host of enhancements that pay homage to the iconic legacy of the first game. Moving away from their proprietary Liquid Engine used in the first Frostpunk, 11 bit Studios embraced the capabilities of Unreal Engine 5, which was used for Frostpunk 2.
