Farlight Games capped off a successful 2024 with their collaboration with Lilith Games on AFK Journey. Now, in 2025, they're launching Ace Trainer, currently in soft launch in South Korea and the US.
Ace Trainer blends several popular game mechanics. Think Pokémon-style creature collection, training, and leveling, but with a zombie-infested twist. Instead of traditional turn-based battles, it incorporates tower defense elements. Adding another layer of complexity, pinball mechanics are used for resource gathering. This unique combination makes Ace Trainer a truly eclectic title. While a global release isn't guaranteed, the multi-regional soft launch suggests Farlight has high hopes for the game.

A Risky Recipe?
Ace Trainer throws a lot into the mix: PvP, PvE, tower defense, and pinball mechanics. This "everything-but-the-kitchen-sink" approach is intriguing, but also raises concerns about long-term sustainability. While individually popular, the combined effect might be overwhelming or lead to a diluted experience. Only time will tell if this ambitious blend will succeed.
