Delta Force, previously known as Delta Force: Hawk Ops, is now available for pre-registration on iOS and Android. Launching in late January 2025, this Tencent title marks a significant entry into the modern military shooter market, blending missions, diverse game modes, and tactical gameplay.
For those unfamiliar, the Delta Force franchise holds a prominent place in FPS history, predating even Call of Duty. Inspired by the US military's elite special forces unit, the game series is known for its realistic combat, advanced gadgets, and authentic weaponry.
Tencent's Level Infinite has masterfully revived the franchise. The game features a Warfare mode offering large-scale battles reminiscent of Battlefield, and an Operations mode focusing on extraction-style gameplay. A single-player campaign, heavily inspired by the 2001 film Black Hawk Down and the Battle of Mogadishu, is also planned for release in 2025.
Addressing Cheating Concerns
Despite high anticipation, Delta Force has faced controversy surrounding its anti-cheat measures. Tencent's approach, while aggressive, has drawn criticism. While their G.T.I. Security team is dedicated to combating cheating, restrictions imposed on PC software and hardware have been met with negative feedback.
Although the mobile version may experience less cheating, this initial controversy could still impact player interest. However, the potential for a smoother, cheat-free mobile experience remains.
