The Witcher 3, while critically acclaimed, wasn't without its flaws. Many fans felt the combat system fell short.
In a recent interview, Witcher 4's game director, Sebastian Kalemba, acknowledged this, specifically citing gameplay and monster hunting as areas needing significant upgrades. His statement: "We want to improve the gameplay and the monster hunting experience."
Kalemba emphasized that the Witcher 4 trailer should showcase the impactful and powerful nature of monster combat, focusing on improved choreography and emotional intensity.
Witcher 4 promises a major combat overhaul. CD Projekt Red recognizes the shortcomings of past Witcher games' combat and is committed to rectifying these issues, improvements likely to carry over into future installments featuring Ciri as the protagonist of a new trilogy.
Interestingly, developers also plan to incorporate Triss's wedding into the game. In Witcher 3, the "Ashen Marriage" quest was initially set in Novigrad. The storyline depicts Triss's affection for Castello and her desire for a swift marriage. Geralt aids in the preparations, tasks including monster extermination, acquiring alcohol, and selecting a wedding gift.
