Larian Studios announced a January launch for the Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 8 stress test, accessible via Steam on PC and consoles (Xbox and PlayStation). Mac and GOG users will not have access. Registration is open now.
Larian plans extensive testing to identify and address any instability or gameplay issues before the official release. They emphasized the importance of player participation in testing the new cross-play functionality, a significant undertaking for a game of Baldur's Gate 3's scale. Players are encouraged to recruit friends or find groups via the Larian Studios Discord server for collaborative testing.
While Patch 8 marks the final major update, Larian reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the game's modding community. Substantial updates are planned to enhance modding tools, enabling players to create and share their own stories. Since September's release of official mod tools, the community has already downloaded over 70 million modules and uploaded over 3,000 mods.
