For visually impaired children, mastering walking skills is a critical step toward independence and confidence. Our app, developed in collaboration with Safe Toddles, a dedicated nonprofit organization, offers a comprehensive series of lessons aimed at enhancing walking and orientation abilities. To learn more about our mission and other initiatives, visit https://www.safetoddles.org.
Our curriculum is meticulously crafted around the innovative Pediatric Belt Cane, a specialized tool designed by Safe Toddles to assist in the development of these essential skills. Through a structured program, children engage in targeted lessons and activities, with the ability to provide feedback via assessment questionnaires, ensuring a personalized learning experience.
The app seamlessly integrates with a wearable Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) sensor that is securely attached to the Pediatric Belt Cane. This sensor continuously transmits valuable IMU data to the app, which is then meticulously analyzed by our advanced AI module. This analysis helps us accurately determine the developmental age of each student, enabling us to tailor the educational journey to their specific needs.
Based on regular assessments of the student's developmental progress, our app dynamically generates a customized set of lessons. This ensures that each child receives the most relevant and effective training to enhance their walking and orientation skills, fostering greater independence and confidence in their daily lives.
