Unlock the power of your device as a versatile portable display for your camera, gaming console, laptop, PC, or any other device with HDMI output by using an HDMI to USB C dongle, known as a UVC capture device or Video Capture Card. Note that this is different from a USB C hub or a USB C to HDMI cable. Devices such as cameras, endoscopes, and microscopes with USB streaming capabilities are also fully supported.
Noir enhances your experience by supporting UVC video streaming and UAC audio streaming, with a choice between OpenGL ES and Vulkan for the graphics backend. The free version provides essential functions and an immersive experience, albeit with ads (which are not shown during the preview). For those seeking more advanced features and to support the ongoing development and maintenance of Noir, the pro version is available for purchase.

FAQ
Why doesn't Noir recognize my device?
Possible reasons include your phone or tablet not supporting USB Host (OTG) or the device not being a Video Capture Card. Additionally, your device may not supply enough power to the capture card, requiring a USB hub for additional power. Why is the preview so laggy?
This is often due to the USB version. Ensure that both the USB data cable and the USB port on your phone or tablet are USB 3.0 if using a USB 3.0 capture card. For USB 2.0 capture cards, use MJPEG format and ensure it does not exceed 1080p30fps (some can support up to 1080p50fps).Why did my capture card, which was working fine, suddenly fail to connect?
This can be due to system issues. The simplest solution is to restart your phone or tablet and try again. Why does my gaming console or Video playback device show a black screen when connected?
This issue is common among PS5 and PS4 users due to HDCP being enabled. Disable HDCP through the PS console settings: Settings -> System -> HDMI, and turn off Enable HDCP. PS3 does not support disabling HDCP. Other devices may also enable HDCP when playing video content, causing a black screen. HDMI splitters that bypass HDCP restrictions exist, but this solution is not recommended here. Why are resolutions other than 16:9 and 4:3 not supported?
Currently, no capture cards support ratios other than these. Use Noir's built-in Stretch feature to specify desired ratios, ensuring your capture card's EDID supports the ratio and setting your laptop or computer's output resolution accordingly.
