Nightmare Crownless, a powerful Overlord-class Echo in Wuthering Waves, boasts enhanced Havoc and Basic Attack DMG. This guide details how to unlock this valuable asset. Unlike standard Echoes, Nightmare Crownless requires completing a specific quest and an additional step.
Accessing the Ruins Where Shadows Roam Quest
This quest isn't initiated through an NPC or world interaction. Instead, locate it within the Exploration Progress menu for the Penitent's End region in Rinascita. Access this menu via the compass icon (top-left of your map).
Completing Ruins Where Shadows Roam and Quest of Faith
Ruins Where Shadows Roam is intertwined with the optional Quest of Faith. This involves defeating four enemies in designated Penitent's End locations. Start by interacting with the prompt near the circular arena adjacent to the Resonance Beacon (located across the broken bridge in Wailing Ascent). This triggers a battle against a Questless Knight.
To conquer these knights, strategically lure them near lit Macabre Torches within the arena. Reignite extinguished torches by maneuvering Fae Ignis enemies into striking them. Avoid using powerful skills near the torches to prevent accidental extinguishment.
Locating Dream Patrols and Unlocking Nightmare Crownless
After finishing Ruins Where Shadows Roam and Quest of Faith, locate all four Dream Patrols in Penitent's End (see image above). While defeating them isn't mandatory for unlocking Nightmare Crownless, completing these challenges yields additional resources and Monnaie. Once all patrols are found, Nightmare Crownless will appear on your map within the ruins north of Penitent's End.
Remember, Nightmare Echoes utilize Enhanced Absorption charges, boosting Echo drop rates. These charges are limited (15 per week), so strategize your usage if you're developing multiple characters.
