Plunderstorm introduces a variety of new spells for players to collect and upgrade. Offensive spells like Aura of Zealotry and Celestial Barrage offer powerful ways to dominate the battlefield. Aura of Zealotry boosts your team's movement speed and allows you to consecrate the ground for periodic damage, while Celestial Barrage rains down devastating moonbeams on your foes. On the utility side, Call Galefeather and Void Tear provide strategic advantages. Call Galefeather summons an eagle to push enemies away, and Void Tear lets you teleport to a marked location, dealing damage and slowing enemies along the way. Adjustments to existing spells' cooldowns and a new UI for ability management keep the gameplay fresh and engaging.
A new Plunderstorm Practice Lobby has also been added, where you can experiment with abilities, adjust your keybindings and transmogs, and socialize with fellow pirates. You can queue for matches or visit the Plunderstore, the hub for Plunderstorm rewards, directly from the Practice Lobby, the login screen, or even within retail WoW via the PvP interface.
Interestingly, the three-person Trios mode is missing from this run of Plunderstorm. While the reason for its absence remains unclear, fans are hopeful that Blizzard will reintroduce it before Plunderstorm sets sail once more.
