World of Warcraft's Detective Title Remains Accessible: A Guide to Finding Alyx and the Celebration Crates
World of Warcraft players can still acquire the coveted Detective title and unlock the path to the Incognitro Felcycle mount, even after the 20th-anniversary event concluded. This is thanks to the relocation of Alyx, the key NPC for the Guest Relations mystery questline.
Alyx, a Lightforged Draenei, has been moved to Dornogal, specifically to the area between the Delver's Headquarters and the Foundation Hall stairs. They're now identified as a "Volunteer Event Coordinator, Among Other Things," and their crucial clue board remains intact. This board provides hints for locating 11 missing Celebration Crates scattered throughout the world.
Securing the Detective Title:
- Locate Alyx: Travel to Dornogal and find Alyx near the hot springs. (Note: Players must be level 68 to access Dornogal, and level 10 to begin Celebration Crate quests).
- Collect the Crates: Use the clues on Alyx's board to discover the 11 missing Celebration Crates.
- Claim Your Rewards: Return the crates to Alyx. Six crates unlock the "Crate Insurance Agent" achievement, while all eleven grant "No Crate Left Behind," "Azeroth's Greatest Detective," and, most importantly, the Detective title. This title is the key to initiating the Incognitro mount questline.
The Persistence of the Detective Title:
While the main Guest Relations questline and associated achievements (like "Assistant to the Assistant Guest Relations Manager" and "I Saved the Party and All I Got Were These Lousy Hats") are no longer accessible, Blizzard's decision to relocate Alyx ensures the Detective title and the Incognitro mount quest remain permanently available. This prevents players from being locked out of obtaining this rare mount.
The future availability of the Thinking Cap transmog, tied to the now-unobtainable achievements, remains uncertain. However, the continued accessibility of the Detective title and Incognitro mount quest represents a positive outcome for players.
