SEGA brings the legendary Virtua Fighter series to Steam for the very first time with Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. Initially Mistaken for Virtua Fighter 6
Earlier this month, a VGC interview sparked speculation about Virtua Fighter 6. SEGA's Justin Scarpone mentioned several legacy titles in development, including another Virtua Fighter entry. However, the November 22nd Steam announcement of Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O clarified that this is a significant remaster, not a brand-new installment. The improved visuals, new modes, and rollback netcode solidify its appeal.
A Classic Fighting Game Returns
Originally launched on SEGA Lindbergh arcades in July 2006 and later ported to PS3 and Xbox 360, Virtua Fighter 5 pitted fighters in the Fifth World Fighting Tournament. While the original featured 17 characters, Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O expands the roster to 19.
