Snapchat's 2024 Year in Review: Your Snap Recap
Looking back on the past year? Many apps offer year-end recaps, and Snapchat is no exception. The new 2024 Snap Recap feature provides a fun, visual summary of your year on the platform.
What is a Snap Recap?
Unlike detailed statistical recaps seen in other apps like Spotify Wrapped, the Snap Recap offers a more casual look back. It selects a single Snap from each month of 2024, creating a slideshow of your year's highlights (and perhaps a few questionable moments!). The recap seamlessly transitions into your Memories, allowing you to further explore past events.
How to Access Your 2024 Snap Recap
Accessing your recap is simple. On the main Snapchat camera screen, swipe up to open Memories. You'll find your 2024 Snap Recap prominently displayed as a highlighted video.
Tap the recap (avoiding the share icon) to view your curated selection of Snaps. The slideshow plays automatically, but you can tap the screen to advance. You can save, edit, or share your recap like any other Snap, including posting it to your Story.
Why You Might Not Have a Recap
If your 2024 Snap Recap isn't appearing, don't panic. Snapchat Support indicates a staggered rollout, meaning yours may not be ready yet. The number of Snaps saved throughout the year is a factor in whether a recap is generated. Inconsistent Snapchat use may also prevent a recap from appearing. Unfortunately, you can't request a recap if one isn't automatically created.
