Valve's Deadlock: An Even More Exclusive Build Revealed

Author : Eric Update:May 14,2025

Valve's MOBA hero shooter, Deadlock, remains in its invite-only testing phase, with the company actively refining and enhancing the game. However, a recent livestream mishap has seemingly unveiled the existence of a second, even more exclusive playtest, showcasing new characters and redesigns.

Leaks emerged from a livestream hosted by a prominent Deadlock player, who inadvertently opened the wrong Deadlock build during the stream. According to reports from Eurogamer, the footage captured by viewers revealed a roster featuring new characters such as the nostalgic Doorman, the scholarly Bookworm, and the eerie Vampirebat, alongside visual updates to existing characters like Ivy. The streamer quickly corrected the mistake, but the information had already spread.

PlayAs of now, no additional details have surfaced, though the leak is quite recent. Deadlock is no stranger to leaks, having been the subject of numerous rumors about its existence and content. While test builds for a broader audience to experiment with upcoming updates are not uncommon, it's unusual for Deadlock, given its current invite-only early stage.

Reactions on the r/DeadlockTheGame subreddit are mixed, with some players expressing frustration at feeling excluded from the playtest. Even within its more public build, Deadlock has undergone significant changes, including the removal of an entire lane. Valve has previously used the Hero Labs mode to allow players to test new heroes, but this appears to be an additional method for testing with a select group.

Despite being accessible only through invitations, Deadlock has attracted a substantial player base and garnered attention from fans of both shooter games and MOBAs. The anticipation surrounding a new game from Valve, coupled with its unique rollout and continued invite-only status, has only heightened its intrigue. The revelation of an even more exclusive build has given players even more to speculate about.

It's crucial to maintain perspective on the real news, as one Reddit user humorously remarked: "Oh great as if one Lash wasn't bad enough, now there are two of him!"
