To embark on a romantic journey with Caldarus in *Fields of Mistria*, you must first break the Fire Seal located on Floor 60 of the mines. To do this, gather four essential items: a Sealing Scroll, a Faceted Rock Gem, an Emerald, and a Rockroot. Once you offer these items, a dramatic cutscene unfolds where the Mines Priestess warns you to leave or risk being sealed. As your health dwindles, Caldarus heroically appears, transforming into his human form, granting you the Dragon’s Breath spell, and then retreating to the Deep Woods.
In his human form, Caldarus can be found at his temple in the Deep Woods, where you can engage in daily conversations and gift exchanges, much like with other romanceable NPCs in Mistria. Use the Dragon’s Breath spell to permanently unlock this area on your map.
Caldarus’ Heart Events in Fields of Mistria

With the March 2025 update, Caldarus starts with a heart level of six, which is currently the maximum. This means there are no additional heart events available for him yet, but future updates from NPC Studio might bring more. Currently, you can enjoy a few cutscenes that introduce Caldarus and his role in the game's narrative. The first cutscene is a dream sequence that introduces the game's magic system, while the second showcases Caldarus saving you from being sealed, revealing his human form, and retreating to recover.

The Shooting Star Festival marks the end of summer in *Fields of Mistria*, offering a romantic opportunity to take any romanceable NPC with four hearts or more to the Summit to watch the stars. Since Caldarus starts with six hearts, you can automatically invite him. To secure your date, gift him a Star Brooch before 8 PM on Summer 28 and meet up afterward to start the event.
