Unlocking the Shu True Ending in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
To access the Shu faction's true ending in Dynasty Warriors: Origins, you must first complete the main Shu campaign. This unlocks the ability to replay past stages. Look for a gold banner next to "The Battle of Changban" – this signifies an alternate scenario.
Normally, this stage involves escorting Liu Bei to safety while Zhang Fei defends the bridge. However, for the true ending, you must defeat Cao Cao directly. This is a challenging "one versus many" battle, requiring you to overcome Cao Cao's forces largely on your own while protecting Liu Bei. Failure to defeat Cao Cao before Liu Bei falls necessitates restarting the mission.
To increase your chances of success:

Reduce Difficulty: Lower the game's difficulty to "Historian" mode. The sheer number of enemies makes this a significantly easier task on a lower difficulty setting.

Strategic Partner: Choose Zhang Fei as your partner. This places you closer to Cao Cao's forces at the start, minimizing the initial travel time.

Musou Meter Management: Prepare your Musou Rage meter before engaging Cao Cao's main force. You'll face two Grand Tactics: eliminating two officers and defeating 250 soldiers. A weapon like twin pikes is highly recommended for quickly dispatching large numbers of soldiers.
Once Cao Cao's army is routed, defeating Cao Cao himself should be relatively straightforward. After this, only a few additional missions remain before the Shu true ending is revealed.
