Unlocking Solanium in No Man's Sky: A Comprehensive Guide
No Man's Sky's Solanium is a valuable resource found exclusively on planets with extreme heat. This guide covers acquisition methods, from direct harvesting to farming and crafting.
Locating Solanium
Solanium, akin to Frost Crystals but found on scorching planets, requires careful planet selection. Use your ship's scanner to identify planets with descriptions like "Arid," "Incandescent," "Boiling," or "Scorched." The scanner will also list Solanium as a resource if present.
Once landed, deploy your Analysis Visor to locate Solar Vines—tall, glowing plant-like structures. These are abundant in specific areas. Remember, you'll need a Haz-Mat Gauntlet to harvest them. While on these planets, collect Phosphorus deposits as they're crucial for crafting Solanium.
Cultivating Solanium
After progressing the Farmer's Agricultural Research mission, establish a Hydroponic Tray or Bio-Dome. Plant Solar Vines using 50 Solanium and 50 Phosphorus. Hot planets allow direct ground planting. Harvesting takes approximately 16 real-time hours.
Crafting Solanium
The Refiner offers several Solanium crafting recipes, most requiring Phosphorus (obtained from hot planets or Galactic Trade Terminals). Here are the recipes:
- Solanium + Phosphorus (for Solanium duplication)
- Phosphorus + Oxygen
- Phosphorus + Sulphurine
- Di-hydrogen + Sulphurine
Note: All recipes, including those using Sulphurine, necessitate a visit to a hot planet. Establishing a Phosphorus farm at your base ensures a consistent Sulphurine supply.
