Get ready for a closer look at Assassin's Creed Shadows! Ubisoft will host a livestream showcasing the game's captivating feudal Japan setting. Viewers will witness protagonists Naoe and Yasuke in action, tackling quests, exploring Harima Province, and confronting formidable foes. The developers will also participate in a Q&A session, offering insights into their creative process and vision for this installment.
Originally slated for a March 20, 2025 release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, Assassin's Creed Shadows plunges players into a world of samurai conflict and political intrigue. However, a delay has occurred.
Renowned industry insider Tom Henderson sheds light on the postponement. The delay, he explains, is attributed to the need for addressing historical and cultural inaccuracies, as well as implementing further refinements. While rumors circulated about Yasuke's potential removal from the narrative, Henderson clarifies that while his storyline will undergo revisions, the character will remain.
Henderson cites several contributing factors to the development challenges. The late integration of historical consultants and internal communication issues played significant roles. Furthermore, the game's technical readiness isn't yet at the desired level for launch. Bug fixes and gameplay adjustments are currently underway, with the latter expected to require more extensive development time. Despite the March delay, Henderson's sources suggest a Valentine's Day release (February 14th) is now the target, given the progress made.
