Short Circuit Studio has just rolled out an exciting new update for their recently launched settlement builder, TownsFolk. Titled "Shadows and Fortune," this update deepens the game's already rich gameplay with a darker, more intriguing tone.
Even though TownsFolk is fresh on the scene, the developers aren't holding back on adding substantial content. The update introduces roaming Barbarians, adding a thrilling element of tension to both campaign missions and Skirmish mode. Alongside this, players can now construct eight new buildings: the Altar, the Town Square, the Blacksmith, the Aqueduct, the Bank, the Granary, the Factory, and the Terraformer. Each of these structures brings unique mechanics to enhance your settlement-building experience.
The aquatic elements of the game are also getting an update. Keep an eye out for the rare Whale in the water tiles, adding a splash of excitement to your explorations. Additionally, the introduction of Special Locations like ancient Obelisks and new Shipwrecks injects more unpredictability into the game.
To help you navigate the expanded world of TownsFolk, a new Compendium acts as an in-game encyclopedia, keeping you informed about all the new additions. The Exploration System has been revamped, and you can now adjust Campaign Difficulties between Frontier and Survival modes to suit your preferred challenge level.
