MobLand, the gripping crime drama starring Tom Hardy and Pierce Brosnan, has officially been renewed for Season 2 by Paramount+. The news comes as no surprise after the show’s impressive performance, with over 26 million viewers tuning in since its premiere on March 30. This makes it the second most-watched original series ever launched on the platform.
The first season of MobLand follows Hardy’s character, Harry Da Souza—a skilled fixer working for Brosnan’s Conrad Harrigan, a powerful figure in London's criminal underworld. Helen Mirren also delivers a standout performance, adding to the star-studded lineup that includes Paddy Considine (House of the Dragon) and Joanne Froggatt (Downton Abbey). The series delves into the complex relationships between two generations of gangsters, their illicit enterprises, and the chaos they navigate on a daily basis.

Paramount’s co-CEO and president of Showtime/MTV Entertainment, Chris McCarthy, praised the show’s success: “With over 26 million viewers and climbing, MobLand has become a resounding triumph driven by the creative brilliance of [producers] Guy [Ritchie], Jez [Butterworth], Ronan [Bennett], and David C. Glasser, and brought to life by the powerhouse performances by Tom, Pierce, and Helen.” He added, “We are elated to greenlight a second season of this global phenomenon, which has dominated both domestic and international charts and soared to #1 in the United Kingdom.”
Critically, the series has held up well too, maintaining a strong 75% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. While fans eagerly await news on the release date for Season 2, the first season remains available for streaming on Paramount+.
In a recent interview promoting the show, Hardy opened up about the physical toll his action-heavy film roles have taken on his body. Now 47, he reflected on years of intense stunts in films like Venom, Mad Max: Fury Road, and The Dark Knight Rises.
“I’ve had two knee surgeries now, my disc’s herniated in my back, I’ve got sciatica as well,” Hardy revealed. “And I have that... is it plantar fasciitis? Where did that come from? And why? Why?! And I pulled my tendon in my hip as well. It’s like, it’s all falling to bits now, and it’s not going to get better.”
