Ubisoft has confirmed that Star Wars: Outlaws will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch 2, although it won't be available at the console's launch on June 5. Instead, fans will have to wait until September 4 to dive into this space adventure on the new Nintendo handheld.
For those who haven't experienced Star Wars: Outlaws on PS5, Xbox, or PC, the game takes place between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. It follows the journey of Kay Vess, a small-time criminal who finds herself targeted by a cartel. Our reviewer rated it a 7, describing it as "a fun intergalactic heist adventure with great exploration, but it’s hindered by simple stealth, repetitive combat, and a few too many bugs at launch."
While Ubisoft didn't provide extensive details, they did confirm the game's availability on the Nintendo Switch 2 and its release date. This news helps update the Switch 2 Games List, offering some excitement amidst the uncertainty faced by American and Canadian gamers. These gamers are currently in pre-order limbo as Nintendo evaluates the impact of new tariffs introduced by the Republican administration.
The announcement came during a panel at Star Wars Celebration in Japan, where Ubisoft also unveiled details about the second story pack for Star Wars: Outlaws, titled A Pirate’s Fortune. In this add-on, Kay teams up with Hondo Ohnaka to confront Stinger Tash, the leader of the Rokana Raiders. Star Wars: Outlaws: A Pirate’s Fortune is set to release on May 15, adding more content for fans to enjoy.
