The news of *Star Wars: Hunters* announcing its shutdown before even reaching its first anniversary has left fans disheartened. Yet, the game will still get to celebrate its one-year milestone before the final curtain call. But the question lingers: is it worth celebrating the anniversary of a game on its way out?
When Is the Star Wars: Hunters Shutdown?
The servers for *Star Wars: Hunters* are set to go offline on October 1st, 2025, marking the end of the game's journey after just nine months since its launch. Players have until April 15th to wrap up Season 5, as the developers, Zynga, are rolling out a final content update on that date. This update will introduce Tuya, the last new Support Hunter, available for free. On the same day, in-game purchases will be disabled, so make sure to use up any unspent Crystals as no refunds will be issued.Ranked Mode will remain active until the servers shut down, and events from the season will be rerun, giving players a chance to enjoy the game's final moments.
It Isn’t Shocking
While it's sad to see *Star Wars: Hunters* go, the shutdown isn't entirely surprising. The game faced numerous delays since its announcement in 2020, with beta tests limited to the SEA and ANZAC regions. The lack of major console support and a tepid reception from the community didn't help its case. From a design perspective, the game missed an opportunity to capitalize on the rich tapestry of Star Wars characters, opting instead for generic original characters rather than the iconic legends fans adore.
If you've uninstalled the game but want to take one last ride, Star Wars: Hunters is still available for download on the Google Play Store until the shutdown date.
