While traversing the mysterious landscapes of The Zone in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, players will encounter a variety of NPCs, which can lead to engaging side quests like "For Science!" How to Start "For Science!" Side Quest in Stalker 2
To embark on the "For Science!" side quest in Stalker 2, players must rendezvous with Yaryk Mongoose at the Central Elevator within the Chemical Plant region. As you approach, Mongoose will radio Skif, urging him to ascend the building for a meeting.
Upon entering the Central Elevator location, veer left past the conveyor belts and ascend the rusted stairs. Mongoose awaits on the first floor; simply vault the railing and enter the room to initiate a conversation with him.
Near Mongoose, you'll spot a measuring device. He'll brief you on the need to activate another device atop a silo simultaneously. By accepting his request, you'll officially kick off the "For Science!" side mission.
Reaching the Top of the Silo During "For Science!" Side Quest
After concluding your discussion, exit the room and climb the stairs to the building's summit. Be prepared to fend off a group of rodents en route. After eliminating them, proceed to a room with shattered windows on both sides. Exit through a window and descend the external ladder to the walkway.
From there, leap onto the connecting walkway leading to the Silos. It's advisable to equip your bolt to navigate the electro anomalies you'll encounter. Continue left across the silo's top until you reach and activate the second measuring device.
Upon activation, a pack of Bloodsuckers will storm the area. You can choose to either confront and eliminate these creatures or evade them to reach Yaryk Mongoose and address the unexpected danger.
Confront Yaryk Mongoose About the Bloodsucker Pack
When you meet Mongoose again, he'll explain the unintended consequences of the experiment. At this juncture, players face a decision: eliminate Mongoose for endangering Skif's life, or accept the reward and depart. The choice carries no significant repercussions, so feel free to choose based on your preference. If you opt to take Mongoose down, you can retrieve the Malachite pass from his body.
However, it's advisable to listen to Mongoose's explanation and select the non-hostile option. This choice will net you the Malachite Pass along with additional coupons. Armed with the pass from Mongoose, you're now free to access the STC Malachite base, unless you've already gained entry through another main mission.
