While the global release of Sonic Rumble is still a bit away, set for May 8th, the excitement is already building with a pre-release crossover event that's nothing short of spectacular. This event isn't just about bringing in outside influences; it's a celebration of Sega's rich legacy, featuring iconic characters from the past and present.
This unique crossover event is kicking off before the worldwide launch and will be available to players in regions where Sonic Rumble is in soft launch. From now until May 7th, you have the chance to claim the Werewolf character, inspired by the classic game Altered Beast, absolutely free.
For those subscribed to the Sega Star Event Pass, there's even more to look forward to. You'll unlock access to the Weredragon from Altered Beast and Opa-Opa, the beloved first mascot from the arcade hit Fantasy Zone.
But wait, there's more! The in-game Ring Shop will offer additional characters like Upa-Upa and the Werebear. Meanwhile, the Red Star Ring Shop will feature characters from Super Monkey Ball, including AiAi and MeeMee, available for purchase.
It's certainly unusual to see such an event before the official release, but if you're among the fortunate ones in the soft launch regions, you're in for a treat. And this might just be the beginning. According to Sega, this crossover event is just the start of an exciting lineup of collaborations and events planned for Sonic Rumble.
On another note, if you're interested in upcoming releases, keep an eye on Supercell's next venture. The Finnish developer is gearing up for another rare launch. Check out our Mo.co preview to learn more about this intriguing, monster-hunting part-timer simulator, soon to hit iOS and Android!
