Smite 2's open beta is now live and free-to-play on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (via Epic Games Store and Steam), and Steam Deck. This launch includes a significant content update from Titan Forge Games.
The highly anticipated sequel, built with Unreal Engine 5, offers a refined visual experience and enhanced combat mechanics compared to its predecessor. The revamped item shop provides greater flexibility, allowing players to equip diverse items irrespective of their chosen god's class. Gameplay remains true to the original Smite's core 5v5 MOBA format, with players controlling gods from various mythologies.
This open beta introduces Aladdin, a brand-new god designed specifically for Smite 2, boasting unique abilities including wall-running and a three-wish revival mechanic. His ultimate ability involves capturing enemies in his lamp for a 1v1 duel.
Key additions in the Smite 2 open beta:
- Five new gods: Aladdin, Geb (Egyptian), Mulan (Chinese), Agni (Hindu), and Ullr (Norse).
- Return of the popular 3v3 Joust mode.
- A new Arthurian-themed map.
- Conquest map updates.
- Alpha version of Assault mode.
- New "Aspects" – optional enhancements for certain gods.
Titan Forge Games has confirmed Smite 2's superiority over its predecessor, expressing gratitude for player feedback received during the closed alpha. They've also promised ambitious new content releases in 2025. While currently unavailable on Nintendo Switch due to performance concerns, the developer remains open to a potential release on the Switch 2. Smite fans can download and experience the open beta now.
