Celebrate 25 years of The Sims with the return of the original games! EA and Maxis have surprised fans with the release of The Sims: Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection for PC. These comprehensive collections, also available together in The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle for $40, bring back the beloved classics with nearly all their expansions and stuff packs. While The Sims 2: Legacy Collection omits the IKEA Home Stuff pack, it still boasts a wealth of content, including a bonus Grunge Revival Kit. The Sims: Legacy Collection also includes a Throwback Fit Kit.
This marks the first time in over a decade that both games have been readily available digitally. The Sims 1, originally released only on disc, was previously inaccessible without obtaining and running an old physical copy. While The Sims 2 had a brief resurgence with the Ultimate Collection on Origin, that version was eventually removed. Now, all four main Sims titles are easily accessible through digital storefronts.
Our original reviews lauded The Sims 1 (9.5/10) and The Sims 2 (8.5/10) for their charm and gameplay. Despite the series' evolution, the originals retain their unique appeal, offering a simpler, yet challenging, experience filled with nostalgic goofiness.
