Konami's Silent Hill Transmission livestream on March 14th unveiled Silent Hill f, a new chapter in the iconic horror franchise. The game's narrative is helmed by Ryukishi07, the celebrated creator of the psychological horror visual novel When They Cry (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni). His expertise in suspense and intricate storytelling has already generated considerable excitement among fans of both Silent Hill and his previous works.
Adding to the anticipation, the game's soundtrack will feature contributions from acclaimed anime composers Dai and Xaki. Their collaboration with Silent Hill veterans Akira Yamaoka and Kensuke Inage promises a chilling soundscape that will perfectly complement the game's atmosphere.

Ryukishi07 himself shed light on the decision to include Dai and Xaki, stating that their music has consistently enhanced his past projects. He specifically requested their focus on scenes intended to be particularly emotionally impactful within Silent Hill f:
These two musicians have always helped make my projects better. For Silent Hill f, I specifically asked them to focus on scenes I wanted to make particularly expressive.
Dai's path to the industry is a unique one. Initially a fan, he wrote a letter to Ryukishi07 criticizing the use of royalty-free music in one of his games. Instead of dismissal, Ryukishi07 challenged Dai to create his own soundtrack. Impressed by the results, the team integrated Dai's work into their projects, marking the beginning of a successful collaboration.
Silent Hill f is currently under development for PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Combining Ryukishi07's gripping narrative with the evocative compositions of Dai and Xaki, the game aims to deliver a truly haunting and innovative horror experience. The collaboration between these talented individuals suggests Silent Hill f has the potential to be a truly remarkable addition to the legendary series.
