Serial Cleaner, the fiendish puzzle game where you erase crime scenes and conceal evidence, is making a comeback! Remember its 2019 debut? This time, it's hitting mobile. Will it be a refined re-release or a simple update? Only time will tell.
The game throws you into the gritty, yet comical, 1970s. Think urban decay, stylish street gangs, and maybe a few cinematic exaggerations (killer sharks, anyone?). You play as Bob Leaner, a professional crime-scene cleaner, tasked with disposing of bodies, cleaning up blood, and hiding evidence of mob violence – all while dodging police.
Our 2019 review deemed the original Serial Cleaner "half-baked but with potential." Developer Plug-In Digital is now self-publishing the mobile version, suggesting a chance for improvement.
A Funky Return?
Available for pre-registration now, with a February 11th, 2025 release date, the extent of the changes remains unclear. While a polished re-release would be ideal, given the time elapsed, that might be optimistic.
The core concept is undeniably intriguing, but a simple mobile port dampens some enthusiasm. However, for Android users who missed out, or those experiencing compatibility issues with older iOS versions, this could be a welcome surprise.
