Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator's global server is shutting down. Koei Tecmo and Akatsuki Games announced the end of service (EOS) for the global version of their RPG, just over a year after its January 2024 launch. The Japanese version, launched in September 2023, remains unaffected and will continue operation.
Atelier Resleriana EOS Date:
Ironically, the global server closure coincides with the Japanese version's 1.5th-anniversary celebration on March 28th, 2025. Global players will conclude their experience with Chapter 21 (Part 1), while Japanese players progress to Chapter 22 (Part 2).
In-game purchases are already disabled, but remaining Lodestar Gems can be used until the shutdown. Koei Tecmo promises new content and events leading up to the closure. The global version's first anniversary on January 25th now feels bittersweet.
Reasons for Shutdown:
Developers cited an inability to maintain a satisfactory player experience as the reason for the global server closure. The game struggled to gain traction, with player complaints surfacing about the gacha system, gameplay, monetization, and excessive power creep appearing only a couple of months after launch. These factors ultimately led to the EOS announcement.
The game is still available on the Google Play Store for those wishing to play before the shutdown. For those seeking a different mobile experience, consider checking out the current Sky: Children of the Light Lunar New Year 2025 event.
