Insomniac Games' Ted Price Reveals Unmade Resistance 4 Pitch
Insomniac Games founder and retiring president, Ted Price, recently revealed in an interview with Kinda Funny Games that a Resistance 4 pitch was developed but ultimately never greenlit. While the concept was deemed "wonderful," Price cited timing and market opportunity as factors preventing its production.
He expressed the team's enthusiasm for continuing the Resistance storyline, highlighting the series' unique alternate history setting and the untapped potential of the Chimera's origins and future narratives.
The Resistance series, a trilogy of first-person shooters, was developed by Insomniac for the PlayStation 3. The games depict an alternate 1951 where aliens invade the UK. Following the Resistance trilogy, Insomniac shifted focus to other projects, including the acclaimed Marvel's Spider-Man series and new Ratchet & Clank titles.
Price's retirement announcement earlier this year marked the end of his 30-year tenure at Insomniac. Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang have been appointed as the studio's new Co-Studio Heads.
Insomniac's latest release, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, recently launched on PC, and the studio is currently developing Marvel's Wolverine.
