Sony's Subtle PS5 Pro Reveal?
A Hidden Image Hints at the New Console
A keen-eyed gamer noticed a previously unseen PS5 design tucked away in an image on Sony's official website, featured in a PlayStation Blog post celebrating the 30th anniversary. This console's design strikingly resembles leaked images of the rumored PS5 Pro.
The image, part of the anniversary logo backdrop, has ignited speculation about an imminent PS5 Pro launch, possibly by month's end. While Sony hasn't officially announced a State of Play event for the reveal, rumors persist of a major event later this month where the console might be unveiled.
Meanwhile, Sony is pulling out all the stops for its 30th anniversary. Gamers can enjoy a free Gran Turismo 7 trial, digital soundtracks from classic PlayStation games, and the soon-to-launch "Shapes of Play" collection, offering "fun moments." Shapes of Play will be available in December 2024 via direct.playstation.com in the US, UK, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Benelux.
A free online multiplayer weekend and esports tournaments are also planned for September 21st and 22nd. Sony stated that during this period, players can access online multiplayer for their owned games without a PlayStation Plus subscription on PS5 and PS4 consoles, with further details coming soon.
