The highly anticipated sequel, Predator: Badlands, has just unveiled its teaser trailer, sending sci-fi action fans into a frenzy. Apart from the new-look Predator, the trailer teases connections to the Alien universe, fueling speculation about a potential setup for a new Aliens vs Predator movie. Fans have noticed Elle Fanning's eyes mimicking the Weyland Yutani reboot effect seen in Alien: Romulus, hinting that her character could be a synthetic. Additionally, a glimpse of the Weyland Yutani logo on a damaged vehicle further cements the crossover.
Predator: Badlands was first announced in February 2024, with its release date confirmed in October of the same year. The trailer, which debuted exclusively at CinemaCon earlier this month, is now accessible to fans eager to see what's in store.
20th Century Studios provided an official synopsis at CinemaCon, stating, "In the future on a remote planet, a young Predator, outcast from his clan, finds an unlikely ally in Thia and embarks on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary."
Elle Fanning shared some exciting insights about her role during CinemaCon, saying, "Something unprecedented happens in this movie. My character is not the one being chased. My character actually teams up with the Predator. And you get to see him in a completely new light. And... I'll stop there!"
Directed by Dan Trachtenberg, known for 10 Cloverfield Lane and the Predator prequel Prey, Predator: Badlands is set to hit theaters on November 7, 2025. Trachtenberg co-wrote the script with Patrick Aison, promising fans a fresh take on the beloved franchise.
