Midjiwan, the independent game studio behind The Battle of Polytopia, has unveiled plans for a major competitive event—the Polytopia World Championship 2025, scheduled for this fall. The developers are preparing to host this grand tournament and are calling on players worldwide to participate.
A Global Esports Spectacle
The Battle of Polytopia World Championship will embrace the game's "Battle of the Tribes" theme. Competitors can select from Polytopia’s roster of 12 unique tribes, each offering distinct regional identities and strategic playstyles that mirror the core game experience.
The path to victory begins with open qualifiers, giving every player a chance to prove their skills. Top performers will advance through tribe-specific playoffs and elimination rounds. Only six elite competitors will earn their spot at the live finals in Stockholm on December 6th.
This ultimate showdown will be hosted in-person while being broadcast globally, allowing fans worldwide to witness the strategic battles and get exclusive insights into Midjiwan’s development process. Whether competing or watching, players can experience the excitement firsthand.
All tournament matches will be held on the Polytopia Official Space via the Challengermode esports platform. The qualifiers launch the action on September 13th.
With a $10,000 prize pool, this championship marks the largest competitive event in The Battle of Polytopia’s nine-year history. Full participation details are available on the official event page.
