Pokémon TCG Pocket's trading feature, despite high player demand, has had a less-than-stellar launch. Player feedback has led developers to announce a rework of the trading system.
As a temporary measure, 1000 Trade Tokens are being gifted to all players via the in-game Gifts menu. Trade Tokens are a crucial currency for card trading within the app.
The planned trading system overhaul aims to address player concerns. Many criticized the initial trading limitations, such as rarity restrictions and the mandatory use of in-game currency.
Reworking the Trade System
The developers' initial approach to trading—incorporating restrictions and currency—proved controversial. A simpler, more open trading system, or the absence of trading altogether, might have avoided some of the current issues. While concerns about bots and exploitation are valid, strict limitations likely wouldn't deter determined players.
The upcoming trading rework is crucial. A well-implemented digital trading system could significantly enhance the game's appeal and establish it as a viable alternative to the physical Pokémon TCG.
