The launch of Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket was met with excitement, but it quickly encountered a significant challenge with its trading system. Initially, the trading feature was criticized for its cumbersome Trading Tokens and restrictive trading rules. The most significant change is the complete removal of Trading Tokens. Now, trading cards of three-diamond, four-diamond, and one-star rarity will require Shinedust, a new currency you'll earn by opening booster packs and receiving cards already registered in your Card Dex. If you have existing Trading Tokens, they can be converted into Shinedust, which is also used to obtain flair. The developers have promised further updates to Shinedust, and an upcoming feature will allow you to share cards you're interested in trading directly within the game.

The digital nature of the game necessitates more restrictions than physical trading to prevent abuse, which has been a point of contention. While the team behind Pokémon TCG Pocket has acknowledged these issues, the planned changes won't be implemented until autumn, leaving players waiting through the spring and summer.
