Akupara Games has been prolific lately, releasing several titles. Following their recent deck-building game, Zoeti, comes The Darkside Detective, a quirky puzzle adventure, and its sequel, The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark (both available now!).
Delving into the Darkside Detective Universe
The game unfolds in the perpetually gloomy, fog-shrouded town of Twin Lakes, a place where the bizarre and supernatural are commonplace. Players control Detective Francis McQueen and his endearingly inept partner, Officer Patrick Dooley, as they navigate the underfunded Darkside Division of the Twin Lakes Police Department.
Nine unique cases await, each a bite-sized mystery steeped in humor and the absurd. Expect everything from time travel paradoxes and monstrous tentacles to carnival secrets and undead mobsters. See the action for yourself in the trailer below!

The Darkside Detective is a loving tribute to pop culture, brimming with references to classic horror films, sci-fi shows, and buddy cop movies. Case titles alone hint at the playful tone: Malice in Wonderland, Tome Alone, Disorient Express, Police Farce, Don of the Dead, Buy Hard, and Baits Motel.
The game's charm lies in its clever humor, woven seamlessly into every pixel. The Darkside Detective is available on the Google Play Store for $6.99, and A Fumble in the Dark can be enjoyed independently of its predecessor, also on Google Play.
