Elden Ring Nightreign's First Network Test: A PS5 and Xbox Series X/S Exclusive
Registration for Elden Ring Nightreign's initial network test opens January 10th, 2025, but with a significant limitation: it's exclusive to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. This means less than half of the game's planned platforms (PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC) will be included in the beta.
Announced at The Game Awards 2024, Elden Ring Nightreign is a cooperative Soulsborne experience set in The Lands Between, designed for three-player parties. The full game targets a 2025 release.
This upcoming network test, scheduled for February 2025, is standard practice for online games. While registration opens January 10th via the official website, the number of available spots remains undisclosed. Confirmation emails will be sent no later than February 2025. Specific test dates will be revealed in the coming weeks.
How to Register:
- Visit the official Elden Ring Nightreign network test website starting January 10th.
- Register, specifying your preferred platform (PS5 or Xbox Series X/S).
- Await your confirmation email.
- Participate in the test during February 2025.
Platform and Gameplay Limitations:
The exclusion of PS4, Xbox One, and PC from the network test is notable. Furthermore, FromSoftware has confirmed no cross-platform multiplayer, meaning players will only be able to interact with others on the same console. Progress made during the beta is not expected to carry over to the final game. Additional betas are possible, but unconfirmed.
The game itself will only support solo play or three-player parties; duo play is not supported. Whether the network test will impose further gameplay restrictions remains unclear.
