Finnish game developer Supercell has surprised fans with a twist on their cancelled RPG, Clash Heroes. Instead of abandoning the project entirely, they've announced a reboot: Project R.I.S.E.
The Scoop on Project R.I.S.E.
Clash Heroes is officially cancelled, confirming earlier rumors. However, its core concept is being reborn as a social action RPG roguelite within the familiar Clash universe.
Supercell's announcement video features game lead Julien Le Cadre, who frankly states, "Clash Heroes is dead." The positive news? Project R.I.S.E. is a multiplayer-focused action RPG.
For more details, watch the announcement video:
Project R.I.S.E. shares similarities with Clash Heroes but is a completely new game. Players will team up in groups of three to explore The Tower, a mysterious location with procedurally generated floors. The objective is to climb as high as possible. Unlike its predecessor, the focus is on cooperative gameplay and character variety, shifting away from solo PvE dungeons.
Currently in pre-alpha, Project R.I.S.E. is slated for its first playtest in early July 2024. Interested players can register for a chance to participate via the official website.
