Max has unveiled an exciting new trailer for Peacemaker Season 2, which significantly enhances the show's ties to the Superman universe by introducing Maxwell Lord, Hawkgirl, and Guy Gardner right from the opening scene.
The trailer begins with Sean Gunn portraying Maxwell Lord, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner / Green Lantern, and Isabela Merced as Kendra Saunders / Hawkgirl conducting a rather dismissive interview with John Cena's character, Peacemaker, for a potential superhero team. The interview quickly deteriorates, leaving Peacemaker visibly dejected as he storms out of the building.
This trailer offers the first glimpse of these supporting characters, who are also slated to appear in James Gunn's upcoming Superman movie.

Peacemaker Season 2 is set to premiere on August 21, following the release of Superman on July 11. This makes it the third entry in the newly established DCU, which was inaugurated by the Creature Commandos TV series late last year.
James Gunn and co-CEO Peter Safran are steering the DCU away from the critically maligned DC Extended Universe, which included films like Justice League, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Man of Steel. However, certain elements from the old universe will persist into the new.
Peacemaker serves as a prime example of this continuity. While Season 1 was part of the now-defunct DCEU, Season 2 will be fully integrated into the new DCU.
James Gunn has previously stated that "many strands will remain consistent as far as Peacemaker's story goes," though it's still uncertain which specific elements will transition from the DCEU to the DCU. He has confirmed that all members of Team Peacemaker will return with the same actors, including John Cena as Peacemaker, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase, and Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo.Gunn has also mentioned that the series will be set after the events of Creature Commandos and Superman, with the events of the latter directly impacting Peacemaker.
