From the trailer, it's evident that the Nintendo Switch 2 is larger in every aspect compared to its predecessor. The screen, Joy-Cons, and even the sticks have all been upscaled. Although exact specifications remain undisclosed, leaks suggest the Switch 2 will measure 116 mm in height, 270 mm in width, and 14 mm in thickness. This makes it 3.1 cm wider and 1.4 cm taller than the original Nintendo Switch. Rumors also hint at an 8-inch screen diagonal, surpassing the 7-inch screen of the OLED version of the first Switch.

Design
The video presentation highlights a new design for the Joy-Cons, now featuring a magnetic connection to the console in portable mode, secured by two recessed contacts within the console's frame. Insiders assure that this new connection method is robust and cannot be easily broken. The SL and SR buttons on the Switch 2 are larger and metallic, with strong magnets ensuring the controllers do not detach accidentally. However, this design necessitates bezels on the sides of the screen.
The controllers now "slide" to the side after pressing a button, and the holder that transforms them into a full-fledged joystick has a new, flat upper grip design. The Joy-Cons insert from the sides, unlike the top insertion of the previous version. The buttons on the Joy-Cons have also been slightly enlarged, and the sticks are rumored to use Hall effect sensors to prevent drifting. Notably, the IR camera has been removed, potentially impacting backward compatibility for games like Ring Fit Adventure.
Additionally, the top bezel of the console features a microphone and a USB Type-C port, which may allow for direct use with wired joysticks and voice chat in games. We eagerly await further details on these features.
