A game developer's resume hints at a possible Nintendo Switch 2 release for Gotham Knights. Let's delve into the details of this intriguing rumor!
Gotham Knights: Coming to Nintendo Switch 2?
A Resume Reveals a Potential Port
On January 5th, 2025, YouTuber Doctre81 sparked speculation that Gotham Knights could be headed to the Nintendo Switch 2. The source? A game developer's resume showcasing work on Gotham Knights for two unannounced platforms.
This developer, employed by QLOC between 2018 and 2023, listed projects including Mortal Kombat 11 and Tales of Vesperia. The noteworthy addition? Gotham Knights, specifically earmarked for two yet-to-be-released consoles.
One platform could be the original Nintendo Switch, given its prior ESRB rating. However, performance issues on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S might have hampered a direct port. The second unannounced platform strongly suggests the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.
It's crucial to remember that Warner Bros. Games and Nintendo haven't confirmed this. However, with the Nintendo Switch 2 being the only major, unreleased console currently anticipated, the speculation is certainly compelling.
A Past ESRB Rating and its Disappearance
Initially released in October 2022 for PS5, Windows, and Xbox Series X, Gotham Knights received an ESRB rating for the original Nintendo Switch, fueling release expectations. Some even predicted its appearance in a Nintendo Direct.
Despite the rating, an official announcement never materialized, and the ESRB listing has since been removed. While the original Switch port seems unlikely now, the past rating, combined with the recent YouTube report, reignites hope for a Switch 2 release.
Nintendo Switch 2: Backwards Compatibility and the Official Unveiling
