Nintendo's Japanese retail launch of the Alarmo alarm clock is officially delayed due to insufficient stock. Read on for details on the postponement and the Alarmo's future.
Japan's General Alarmo Sale Postponed
Supply Can't Meet Demand
Nintendo Japan has announced a postponement of the general release of the Alarmo, originally scheduled for February 2025. The delay stems from current production and inventory challenges. The new release date is yet to be determined. There's currently no word on whether this affects other regions, where a general public launch is planned for March 2025.
In the interim, Nintendo is offering a pre-order system exclusively to Japanese Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. Pre-orders open mid-December, with shipments beginning early February 2025. The precise pre-order start date will be announced separately.
Nintendo's Interactive Alarm Clock
Launched globally in October, the Alarmo is a gaming-themed alarm clock featuring iconic melodies from Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Pikmin, Splatoon, Ring Fit Adventure, and more, with additional sounds promised via future updates.
Its initial release quickly surpassed expectations, leading Nintendo to halt online orders and implement a lottery system. The Alarmo sold out completely in Japanese Nintendo stores and the New York Nintendo store.
